I like architecture, not as much of a vice as the day-to-day, but it's there, and I admire it when i can.

This, found on ArchDaily is a job done by Sean Godsell in Glenburn, Victoria. nestled into the surrounding hillside, gives pretty immense views. Thats not the cool part though, its the inlay details, like double glazing, rainwater harvesting and digital power management that make it kind of a cool three year project. If only they did houses like this in the city...

Also, go here for a f**king load of japanese/design fonts. been a source of mine for years only i've kind of kept it close to the chest, but I'm in a sharing mood, so take advantage of that shit.

Bit going on recently, going worthwhile places with good people, good food and times. Not much i can put into text, but I can in photos... Some narratives on some recent ones.

Brett & I put the flares on his Feroza recently, not quite as aggressive as the slightly (lower) purple car positioned in front of it though. I like the additions - he doesn't. DOT does funny things to you when your wheels are 3/4 of a foot out of the guards... Ease up on the saltiness though, you're in danger of stealing my thunder here.

John @ AusZoku pasted his low-down club sticker on my dash recently. I'm down with John and his style so it's staying there.

Seeing the sticker gets me thinking - that's one cool thing about japan, is that the Tomodachi trade is a common thing amongst hashriya, sliding teams trading their stickers to their friends to wear on their cars as a sign of friendship/allegiance. It's a shame that having so many stickers on your car is a sign for the police to pull your car over for anal insertion of the batton into your 'criminal' arse though.

I think this sums up the JDM 'tight or bright pool-party' NYE pretty well. everyone had a good time and let alot of water out of the pool. We also witnessed some fine entries (and exits) from the overly large blow-up pool and carnage ensued every entry thats for sure, females nor opened drinks were sacred. At one point i recall a Tom B entry so vicious, 3-4 people at least were sent reeling and the outer floor was an inch deep with water... Aside from that, $250 cubans, skids, HI-VIS among more were other things to behold...

On a side note, this post lacks salt, so; ATTN: Females - please learn how to lie better. you make it too obvious, which removes my willingness to talk to you. Or is it just me being able to tell too easily? Some more obvious than others, but whatever.

Also, i drink every night. I'm still not sure if this is bad or not, which is why i'm just continuing with it.

2. Hearing the same stories numerous times -
OK, you told me this morning, you told me last night. i don't need to hear how you got grilled and nailed your ex-girlfriend, I'll listen, but I really fucking don't care after the second time hearing it. I'm not a goldfish.

3. Those with bad breath and willingly know and accept it -
I know, this one is relatively un-escapable for some, but a pack of gum isn't even a dollar. ONE FUCKING DOLLAR. if you're too cheap to bother considering others and to allow your breath to smell like a trout lives in a toilet of coffee and smokes cigarettes all day, then don't open your mouth.

4. Shopping centre shoulder-barges -
One day I'll snap at one of these cunts and start throwing shit. Shit like whatever is heavy and not bolted down. At least excuse yourself.

5. Waiting in line behind indecisive people at the Ramen house -
Make up your mind already. I travel a half hour by bus to this ramen house situated in a damned alley, which is harsh enough, let alone having to stand behind you while you decide if you want the Kragore Don or the Pork Katsu curry, udon yakuniku or whatever.

6. Time wasters-
Some female culprits in here too, they know who they are because I've told them. Waste my time and You're not worth that time you're wasting, so fuck off into the sunset, my time is thin enough as it is without your blonde ass mooching it up.

7. People assuming I want a fork because I'm Caucasian.
I know how to use chopsticks, otherwise I wouldn't have come to your restaurant and ordered in Japanese for fucksake.

I used to be a self-proclaimed coffee aficionado, but my interest dropped off over the last few months as the espresso machine at work broke down. Now that it's fixed and my caffeine addiction is in full swing again, equilibrium has been restored within the world, I think.

I've also been spending time cruising Yahoo! auctions JP whilst in my spare time, looking for any bargains on the jap shit. Anyone who knows anything worth knowing, knows to buy from there. It's cheaper than ebay, and the Japanese are far more efficient than americans when it comes to shipping parts safely and quickly. EMS defecates all over every postage system in the world. Why? Example:

-Auction ended tuesday morning at 10am JPN time

K turned 21 last week, happy birthday you cool kitty-kat. we smite a good time on sydney many times over last weekend. a swell party with swell dudes on a saturday night near heights was what the doctor ordered. a six-way birthday party i heard? whoa. chatting vintage bmx bikes over a brew and a blunter was a evident highlight.
then sunday night 5 dollar drinks and kings cross hobos was pure enthrallment i might add.

No easy feat with the front end setup in the car right now. I'm looking at Z32 calipers & s14 rear calipers perhaps for porportioning reasons. it's on the cards at least, for now. Either that or choose earlier braking points.

I've only met the 80's Redline-snatching-Ritchie a couple of times, both of which have been the de rigur of Sydney folks - fun. He's a funny guy. Alas, his shop An:other" is celebrating their 2nd anniversary on 20th December. if you're in Sydney - go down to Burton St and check it out, buy some shit you wont get anywhere else while you're there.

The last time Kate and I were in Burton St, a rowdy group of Sydney inner-city aboriginals managed to get the cops called while we were in the Feit shoebo...I mean store. Which was the span of about 3 minutes, which is probably the fastest Sydney metro police response time, ever.

Also, the Apartment guys continue to get the coolest shit in Brisbane, proving their true worth to this town! we don't see those guys enough. Thats for sure, and the new store in its previous life was a nightclub, apparently. That makes you want to dance up in there, they've got the space...

Seldomly do I find such immense hilarity in such things as this comic strip, as I dont find the fact of silly fanboy Americans jumping on band wagons and inflating prices of Japanese car parts funny at all.

As a fact, I know that Americans bought all, yes, ALL the kouki Trueno bumpers in existence (in japan, was about 1200 that I'm aware of in 2001, after research) in six, (6), SIX MONTHS, after some dumb shit posted the Japanese part number on club4ag. (not club4ag's fault in anyway.) As a kouki Trueno owner, this disturbs me that if i bust a bumper, I'm pretty much fucked. [I'll also add i'd bust it track driving, not crushing it over the speedbumps from hanging out at best buy or whatever.]

I'm fucked because the only way to get another one in decent (read = poser spec/US fanboy spec, whatever) is to get one at grossly inflated prices from some takumi taxing idiot in the US, who couldn't hook up the leading lights, there's no foglights, or it's not the same as Takumi's.

Hypocrites. They're so consumed by the urge, no, the compulsion to be on the 'cool' JDM bandwagon, they forget what the fuck they're doing to the rest of the world's car enthusiasts.

Basically, we are in the same hemisphere as Japan, and have very good relations with their economy. So why the fuck do we pay double (yes, thats taking the currency rates into consideration) the prices for parts?

I respect those few American enthusiasts that know the good products from the 'coolest' and make fast cars, not show ponies.

moving house/apartment is tough. when you have a week to do it, on top of finishing a car build, AND vacating a house, harder.

and rent prices are absolute SHIT. $300 a week for 2 bedrooms? Sure there's A/C, but man, semi-innercity suburbia is F***ING CAPITAL GAINS PERSONIFIED. This isn't big city living, I want a jaccuzzi for that money.

I guess it's higher in sydney though.

Thankfully the new location is a stones throw away from familiar faces.

I always manage to catch myself thinking about wherever influential people in my younger life of skipping school to ride bikes, piff moments, no cars & long lunches have gotten to. So much so this last week, I've made a list. I'll be filling this in as the week progresses.

Bone Thugs n' Harmony:

My cousin put me onto this group when i was about, what 16? The time where i was escaping the wiggers society was throwing at me left right and center. Back in that time, Nothing but riding bikes all afternoon, music, JNCOs, how little homework you do, and the weekend mattered. The BTNH wasn't quite underground, but if you knew the BTNH, you were down with the ones actually wearing the JNCOs.

I wonder where they are purely because of the gunshot content of their songs. (The gunshot in hip-hop track era was in its prime peak) I just wonder if all of those gunshots came back to haunt them in real life...

Apparently not.

I put in a CD i found yesterday, and found the more i listen to their tracks now, the more I just get over come by the feeling of cheesyness.

I'm such a sucker/fiend for a few things specifically with handling components, and one of those is a fine set of heim joints (or rose joints if you don't give no shits 'bout terminology) on EVERYTHING. I like precision, and rattling the passengers bones.

these Kai-Power LCA's are oh-so-shit-hot. i'd eat a pair of stock arms, and a whole fucking pumpkin for a pair of these. Really. Proper (not cheap, almost twig-like) swaybar mounts are a giant plus, as you want it to work. proper heim linkage, castor rod L-brackets (which double as lock-stops) as well. Just what the doctor ordered? arigato.
