2am - japan car life

Saturday, November 15, 2008

Tonight I've given up getting loaded with the gang in favor of being passenger. Guess there's a first for everything!

As for you wondering, yes, the rumors are true. Tokyo/Kanagawa/Yokohama/Osaka = win.

iwork from iphone

Shit, Shoot me. I've become one of the saturated mass of trendoid pokesters that have blogged from an iphone. (And i use the term 'blogging' really, really fucking loosely here. More of a drunken shit list turned narrative compared to other shit flinging which people term as weblogging.) 08 annual was this weekend, shit was legit fun. Karting reminded me of old times racing karts. Had some good battles & passes and came in 2nd but it's for the fun, innit. nice to meet everyone.

Missed the BBQ/touge drive and spent sunday getting my car ready for a slide night on the 21st. got rear bracing tack welded in and a spacer donated from erin which makes the seating position that much better. exclusive street running team flag-it, coming soon?

About time seeing this car on the street, drivable. It has alot of grip. It's rather Hibino-esque isn't it. I've suggested silver bars to finish it as it's pretty much there anyway... But no dice. 1st gear T-50 destroy manji challenge go!

Hachiroku Annual 2008

Will be looking forward to some karting thats for sure...

October shit-list

1. People who stand too close behind me in queues and lineups -
Seriously, why the fuck? if i wanted to feel like i was in prison and one wrong move would get my ass violated, I'd go to prison. But I don't, so back the fuck off. You never know who has some weird fixation on invading personal space.

2. Hearing the same stories numerous times -
OK, you told me this morning, you told me last night. i don't need to hear how you got grilled and nailed your ex-girlfriend, I'll listen, but I really fucking don't care after the second time hearing it. I'm not a goldfish.

3. Those with bad breath and willingly know and accept it -
I know, this one is relatively un-escapable for some, but a pack of gum isn't even a dollar. ONE FUCKING DOLLAR. if you're too cheap to bother considering others and to allow your breath to smell like a trout lives in a toilet of coffee and smokes cigarettes all day, then don't open your mouth.

4. Shopping centre shoulder-barges -
One day I'll snap at one of these cunts and start throwing shit. Shit like whatever is heavy and not bolted down. At least excuse yourself.

5. Waiting in line behind indecisive people at the Ramen house -
Make up your mind already. I travel a half hour by bus to this ramen house situated in a damned alley, which is harsh enough, let alone having to stand behind you while you decide if you want the Kragore Don or the Pork Katsu curry, udon yakuniku or whatever.

6. Time wasters-
Some female culprits in here too, they know who they are because I've told them. Waste my time and You're not worth that time you're wasting, so fuck off into the sunset, my time is thin enough as it is without your blonde ass mooching it up.

7. People assuming I want a fork because I'm Caucasian.
I know how to use chopsticks, otherwise I wouldn't have come to your restaurant and ordered in Japanese for fucksake.

auctions, powered by espresso.

I used to be a self-proclaimed coffee aficionado, but my interest dropped off over the last few months as the espresso machine at work broke down. Now that it's fixed and my caffeine addiction is in full swing again, equilibrium has been restored within the world, I think.

welcome back, old pal.

I've also been spending time cruising Yahoo! auctions JP whilst in my spare time, looking for any bargains on the jap shit. Anyone who knows anything worth knowing, knows to buy from there. It's cheaper than ebay, and the Japanese are far more efficient than americans when it comes to shipping parts safely and quickly. EMS defecates all over every postage system in the world. Why? Example:

-Found cams on a monday night
-Auction ended tuesday morning at 10am JPN time
-Paid for cams tuesday afternoon
-Items shipped tuesday night
-Box arrives at my door thursday at 9am

Then, sold the cams for twice the price I paid for them.

Easy - Fuck eBay.

Watch the fingers.

Indulged in quality time under and with the car and got some shit sorted, like:

-New engine mounts
-Exedy Brass button 5-puck clutch/pressure plate
-New 212mm flywheel
-Tom+Tony'swelder+rumcans brand 2-way LSD
-Diff oil hair gel
-Body Odour from above mentioned diff oil
-2am Skids

And modifications to come:

-1 piece tailshaft
-Rear tires
-Even more skids
-More rear tires again

Can you see the theme here?

Also a distinct lack of partying this weekend, much to the livers dismay. Much to make up for next time around.

Jobs, jams and jibber-jabber

first up, new vans/edwin/rittenhouse coming into my favourite homies underground lair - apartment, go and buy them. But leave me some black classics, in elevens. Or else.

New jobs coming up, including a couple of big ones. One for a Sydney clothing label as well, which will remain unnamed, but i'll post a snippet here soon.

LP website should be up within a month, been on that in the downtime. Alot of good plans will come to fruition with that one.

Bombing hills on big bikes one night this week. Whoever is keen, holla.

Cannon fodder, coming soon.

PS. Cranberry drink is the beverage of the summer. So far, it's 12:50am and I'm already sweating liquids to rival the grand rapids.

You're a target if you've got air-con.

brain on autopilot

"you must not try to guide yourself to the brink of self destruction, but more enjoy the driver-less ride to the bottom of the shit-heap, without intervention. the bottom is then recycled like a shitty fashion trend, and becomes the peak of the pungent, yet congested centre of this disgusting plague of promiscuous sex, drugs, forgotten noirs, self loathing and rock and roll known as the 'scene'. this humanity disgusts me, in a pleasant way." - anonymous

don't waste those days.

Happy birthday to jack, half the crew MIA. Was good shit for a thursday night.

parties an' polaroids

Bit of partying happening, never enough but. Some photos I stole... Had a good time munting an' fronting with various victims

i wasn't even at this party, but apparently induced a good time. nice to meet these kids.

LP visits the creep' on inn.

Brett & I Went bicycle riding today whilst every man, woman and trans-gender being went to the Exhibition races. Whispers say there was a 30min wait for drinks each time and it was too crowded to jockey into position to see the actual horses. Fuck that. I'd rather not have to wait a half hour to get a drink as I'd sober up in line and have to spend alot more money on gin & tonics to get that warm n' fuzzy feeling back.

life without buildings - good little blog about modern architecture that i've been getting into.

shave your teeth

went for a skate tonight. bombed some hills and thought about shit, realized & re-evaluated where some things stand and decided my tolerance and patience regarding some subjects is heading downhill fast.

got a bit too bent sat-dee night, was too hungover to ride today - had a mighty vomit, which it's been awhile, reminding my liver to spurt hatred forth past my tonsils aint' easy work. but a deserving punishment.

monday ahoy!

ps. watch this space for a newly translucent candy-apple red suprise. guaranteed hotness.

"oh why you gotta be talkin shit manda"

good moments, and notice the involuntary bowlcut in these images. involuntary is a marvellous word. blame it on my stylist.

"visual crack..."

"...for the ocular fiend" is the moniker for this one. consider it a imagery dumping ground of someone i have been told i've met, but the mind plays tricks on us substance abusers.

fixed gears can be found amongst racy polaroids, obscure literature references and other interesting shit.

dunno, just fucking look at it. no words so it aint all that hard to do so.

this blog is back, sort of. i've got time now being single and all. and i'll post whilst drunk as often as possible, which is most of the time anyways.

the outpost store's "I used to skate once" show is on this month, number 4 to be exact. June 26th 6:00pm till midnight - the Zoo in the valley. Go there. some sweaty guys will play music and people will drink, hobnob and look at skateboards stuck to the walls all night. aloha.

k = twentyone and walking sydney

K turned 21 last week, happy birthday you cool kitty-kat. we smite a good time on sydney many times over last weekend. a swell party with swell dudes on a saturday night near heights was what the doctor ordered. a six-way birthday party i heard? whoa. chatting vintage bmx bikes over a brew and a blunter was a evident highlight.
then sunday night 5 dollar drinks and kings cross hobos was pure enthrallment i might add.

having to walk everywhere whilst there was cool, not used to breezing by the traffic lights at such a steady, un-motorized pace. it's a nice change, not so much smelling the sewage but.

thanks kinsey + floe for a lend of both the floorspace and the coolest of cool BTTF key-holder. chyeah.

i got photos, just gotta develop that shit.

le tour (not de france)

I unfortunately missed the annual tour this year (The Tour defined as 10 days of heinously enjoyable liver abuse in and not confined to surfers paradise penthouses) which sucks.

But here's some snaps from a couple of years back. Circa 2005 i think? Oh shit. Zoo York tees, vodka in a can and potentially evil morning food binges.

I had a good portion of that drink spilt on my crotch. Hotels equipped with hair dryers = worthy.

3am or so. Pretty sure i've spent the prior two hours to this photo seeing double, triple and at perhaps one point i was convinced i saw a thrice-titted barmaid. Pretty sure I let her know my amazement in between tequilas, multiple times.

Pretty self explanatory really. MUNTED.

If this is the story of my youth - holy shit.

dubstep mix - numero uno

Theres such a site called right, where dubstep/bigbeat heads congregate and NOT talk shit, which is totally unlike the internet in every conceivable way possible. I feel the space time continum shifting right now just from mentioning it. I was watching a CNN segment about and I quote "Diminishing intelligence stems from the internet?" YES. One look at the comments on any video on YouTube will make you want to cut your cortial arteries out of your body to make sausages.

This is a mix, by dubstepforum member monkeyetek - i like it, so I'm passing on the goodwill. I'm forgetting his intentional (?) use of 'chunes' in place of 'tunes'. I'll let this one slip.

those "moments of excitement"

this week enjoyed a nice mountain drive with a few like minded induviduals for a change on a late night, and ended up coagulating my 0-350deg range brake pads. No easy feat with the front end setup in the car right now. I'm looking at Z32 calipers & s14 rear calipers perhaps for porportioning reasons. it's on the cards at least, for now. Either that or choose earlier braking points.

not fucking cool, EBC green - le suck.

Took a ride in a R32 GTR, for the second time, this time was a little more hairy. I forgot how stable those cars are at speed - the unnamed driver describes his methods in his words "corner entry on engine brake, and foot to the firewall mid corner to exit"

and he did - balls.

not going to say much about this one, the reviewer is a Brisbane guy. Laugh ahoy

Tuesday, January 15, 2008

no, not the naughty by nature track, but real holidays, from work. Not enough of that shit. change of employment - imminent in the new year.

more riding needed, this rain is dreadful, all the trail heads must be into it though...

We're making the grimey drive to see dizzee rascal himself in Byron Bay on a wednesday in a couple of weeks, shits going to be legit! Why he didn't schedule Brisbane, I won't know. I'm going to sport a KANO RULEZ tee i think.
